Experimental Investigation on the Heat Dissipation and Postfire Structural Performance of a Reinforced Concrete Column with Biomimicked Geometry

Under occurrences fire, columns affected, failure same could eventually steer global collapse In this study, various geometries were adopted based on plant, dissipation characteristics studied. Finite element analysis was used determine optimal form dissipation. optimized shape tested experimentally using high-temperature localized heating element. Five column specimens considered experiments named C (conventional nonheated column), C1 heated C2 (mimicked C3 with rebar cone), C4 cone (quenching)). heat-dissipating nature observed, structural aspects aftermath. results reveal that quenched specimen depicts better than other maintains throughout height.
